243 Cast Loads

Let me know some of your best/favorite loads for the 243. Rarely see or hear of cast for 243, but surely some one shoots them.

the famous "universal" cast load of 10 grains Unique. Good starting place.

2nd for Unique.

I shoot my 243 Ackley Imp 26" barrel with 11.0 grains Unique under a Lyman 84gr Loverine.
It burns very clean. Shoots the bullet as fast as I can get them to go accurately with slower powders anyway.

I too have been using Unique, but 9.5gr. to start in my .243Win. with Ly. #245496 and am impressed with it. Here are some other loads using the same CB: 14gr. H/IMR 4198; 16.2gr. AA 2015; 14.9gr. XMP 5744. Although 5744 is more $$ than other propellants, it has produced significantly lower extreme velocity spreads with CB's in all of my rifles. Not so great in a .357Mag. though!

My wife's 243 loves 11 gr of Unique with a Loverin style 87 br boolit.
