I was in Cal Ranch today buying goat feed and they were stocking their shelves with Federal 40gr 22 LR. Clerk said they got 2 cases and was limiting buys to 5 box per customer. $2.35 a box.
So who knows, Maybe things are starting to lighten up.

Went to the local gun store today to look for a Christmas present for someone. Didn't find what I wanted but noticed their printed sign that said:
"NO .22 Short, Long Rifle or .22 MAG"
a hand written note on the sign did say .22 shotshells now in stock limit one box.

I guess I'll give my friend a brick of Aguila for Christmas.

22LR supply is an enigma.

Folks here still want $50 for a 500 round brick of Golden Bee, when selling it private party. All the LGS have 22LR in stock, and even the local HomCo hardware store has RWS in stock, albeit for $17.00/50!

WalMart and Big 5 get a regular trickle in, but don't even keep it on the shelf for more than a few hours.

Havent been to the local Cal-Ranch recently as they are on the other side of town from me.

There must be some hoarder somewhere that has a warehouse full of .22 LR. I have been shooting centerfire for a couple years because it is cheaper. Doesn't make sense.

Some people apparently still think it's still rare. This is a sample of the ads in my area.

22 lr ammo $30 for 100 rds, won't last
.22 lr ammo 525 rds, $65 Remington golden bullet
22 Rim Fire High Velocity $10 for 50
22 ammo lr remington box of 500 $150, must be 18
.22 lr Peters ammo $10 for 50, $80 for 500

and the best one, "550 rounds - Federal 22LR $175 or trade for 10oz. silver".
