To start I am using the same lead iv been using for a long time. But near the end of my session today my melt started getting weird. First it was a weird bluish color. and at the very end there was some slag in it, and it was like the melt had a layer of oil on top of it. it was a similar viscosity. the slag was separating away from each other. my dipper was pushing it away. think of dropping a little soap into water, it kinda pushes outward.
this happen to anyone else? iv got a video uploading to show.

The color happened to me during a smelt. Probably just got it too hot. Look for the thread "blue and purple and gold, oh my" for more info.

You don't say what alloy you are using, but the description sounds like pure or near pure lead that is very hot.

I was also seeming to get a lot of oxidation too.

Try fluxing it with some pine shavings and see what happens.
