Are there any other published loads for the 1 ounce Lee slug besides the ones that come with the mold? Would it be OK to sub the slug in for 1 ounce field loads? I don't need MAX loads like come with the mold, but stump killer loads (mild to medium).

There are, indeed! BPI comes to the rescue:

I routinely use Alliant data for "International" loads, running 1345 fps in all the standard hull/wad combos---never had a problem, but check the fit and avoid anything too close to the limit. Lee slugs are supposed to run pressures lower than the same weight of shot, and it does seem to work that way.

Lee 1 ounce slug, Winchester WAA12SL (pink) wad because the low cost ones don't hold up as well, 17 grains Red Dot, Promo, 700X or Clays, any 209 primer, tapered wall case.

Mild, circa 1150 fps velocities, much more pleasant to shoot, still hits hard.
