I'll be picking up my 5.5" single seven Monday. So I decided to cast some MP 314640s both hollowpoint and flat nose. Ended up with 33 pounds from yesterdays casting.
Anyone using this boolit? Would like to find out what's working. I plan to load some plinkers and some pushed to higher velocities.

Thanks.

I got that mould to cast as hollow points for my Blackhawk 8-shooter and my custom S&W stainless K-frame in 327 FM. Truth to tell, after casting a couple of hundred of them I still haven't gotten around to sizing and lubing them, so they remain untested. I guess I need to get out my .314 sizing die for they Lyman and get busy. I'll be watching this thread closely to see whether anyone else drops by to tell us about their experiences.

PS I also see them as great bullets to load in some of my "warmest" loads for the 32 S&W Long. Anybody using them this way??

I too got this mold for my Blackhawk in 327. I have also cast some, but thanks to hunting season, that project has not been completed yet to see if they fit my Single-Seven. I think the OAL will be very close.

If it's anything like the other 640 bullets it should be a tack driver. I can't help because I'm looking to purchase one of these molds. I didn't have any 32cals when the buy was run :(

Wow! Can you tell I tried to type that on the mini keyboard of my new iPad? Looks like a lot of practice is in order!

I run that boolit over 10ish grains of 2400. Works great! Mine are about 118 grains though. I keep OAL .010 less than cylinder legth (about 1.540).

I have only been able to conduct minimal testing so far, but accuracy has been very good to excellent, despite multiple issues with the fire arm initially. Two loads that worked well were 11.8 grains of H-110 and 4.5 grains of Unique. I have very high hopes for this boolit. In my first attempts, I was getting 2-3 inch groups at 25 yards, despite windy weather conditions, and having left my prescription shooting glasses at home. Front sight gets pretty fuzzy without them.

I would love to be able to point to a hidden treasure trove of good load information. However, reloading data is thin on the ground. Hogdon has some for their powders using hundred grain bullets, but neither of my newest reloading Manuals is any help(Speer # 14. Lyman 49). The 4th edition Cast Bullet Handbook has some data, but the only slow powders listed are AA #9, Blue Dot, and Longshot. I haven't seen any Accurate Pistol Powders in nearly 5 years, I have had issues in the past with Blue Dot and what the heck is Longshot? I sure wish that they had given 2400, H-110, and 296 some play instead.

I did run into an issue with heavy boolits, specifically the 311-316. I was getting pierced primers with H-110 and what should have been a mild load. I have loaded up some more loads, but it will probably be Thursday before I can get out to test them.

I have used the 115gr HP version in my Ruger Single Six 32H&R, very accurate bullet. Used 10.5gr of 296 with CCI 500 primers in Starline 32H&R brass. In my 6.5in barrel, velocity =1175fps. No pressure issues at all in my gun, yours may be different!
I loaded some in 327 Starline brass yesterday again using 296. My 7.5in Single Seven gets here Tuesday! My mold casts very well with the HP pins. I have not tried casting solids.

Got no response. I'm assuming there are none left. Usually when I Pm him I receive a PayPal request the next day.
