It's on it's way!! I bought a mini BPCR. Actually it's a roller with a 38 spl barrel on it. I plan on shooting it that way for a while since I have dies, brass, powder, primers and bullets.

Then.........
It's probably going to get a reamer. Maybe a 357 mag for a trial run. Who knows what it may get after that.

Anyone shot a 38 spl with black powder? Should be a low recoil, fun plinker!!

Otta be fun. Try it with a full case of FFFG and a wadcutter. With and without a wad that you can cut out of legal pad cardboard or beer cases. Compress the powder with the boolet but don't deform the boolet. No air space allowed. Use a non-petroleum lube.

If you've shot BP cartridge before I'm preaching to the choir. I shoot my 44-40 with FFFG and no wad and get the same accuracy as I get with the wad.

Actually, I have. During a PPC match and I made sure I got upwind on the line.

On the same relay (7 yard line) were the #1, #2, and #4 shooters in the state.

Funny thing, even with all the smoke, nobodies score was any different!

Recoil was a bit stouter than the Bullseye load.

Is a black powder action or one of the steel ones. Don't have my loading books availible but the pressure might be to much if someone loads a full power 357 mag load in a black powder action.

There are no markings as to maker, but I think it is an Uberti. Italian proof marks on the frame and one small mark on the trigger guard that looks like their logo.

I just did a search on the Uberti rollers. They were made in .22 (still are I think), .22 hornet, and 357 mag. Since this is a 38, I'm thinking it was a hornet, but should stand a 357 rechamber if I wanted to.

What's that obnoxious thing on the top?:kidding:
One of the replicas of an original would look good though.

It looks like a copy of a number 2 roller. If it is of modern materials I don't see why it couldn't be a 357.
