Elcellent info. I had one pistol chambered in 357/44 B&D but believe it failed do to faulty gunsmithing. I plan to build one on a 16"-18" contender for use as carbine. I also have a 357/44 Bobcat cylinder with one or 2 sleeves.

Back in the 80's I had a Stainless Ruger Redhawk .357 that I had converted to 357/44 Bain & Davis. I enjoyed shooting it and it was very accurate. The problem was that even after having Magna-port polish the cylinder holes to a mirror finish, if you loaded the cartridge to max loads with 158 gr, bullets on top of H-110, you had to drive the empties out with a mallet. Only way to prevent that was to download to a more moderate load. That defeated the entire pupose of the cxartridge. It did not stop me from shooting the hell out of it for almost 5 years, but it was annoying.
