finally getting over major surgery and ready to try out my 1st HP mold, a Mihec 9mm HP brass mold. also bought a pound of PC powder from Smoke that I would love to PC these 9mm HP's with. Going to dry tumble Smoke's powder, already have my black airsoft bb's and the special plastic container (from Costco, had to eat all the cookies first)

I normally cast boolits with 12 - 14 bhn lead but I keep reading that some of you guys are using softer lead.

Whats the hardness that you would recommend for these 125gr 9mm HP PC'd boolits ?

High pressure load. I use 3% Sb + HT. Softer gives me stripping, but I'm using a 130 TC & HiTek. 40 runs the same pressure, used the same alloy when I was PCing pistol. Very accurate for me. .

What ever the BHN is for Air-Cooled clip on wheel weights; that's what I've been using with my Powder-Coated 9mm bullets.

I'm shooting a 3" barred concealed carry gun with these. I also use them in my 380 Keltec and they still give good expansion with no leading.

I did check the BHN about two or three years ago with my BHN tester. If I remember correctly it measured about 16 but, those particular cast bullets had been sitting for some time before I Powder-Coated them.

I have shot many 1000's of MP's 124 grn HP's, cast from range scrap, Powder Coated, sized to .358 over 4.2 grn of HP-38.

Less than about 10 or 11 BHN will be too soft and can cause the bullet to undersize while loading them in my experience. Never had any other issues though.
