That is good shooting. Haven't seen one of the mannicular (sp?) forends in a long time. Must be a 30-30?

Yes 30-30, Its only 50 yds, but if I hold 2 inches high its on at 100 & still hits the steel w/some authority!

yes wish mine wasn't such a dog.
they are good thou I enjoy shooting mine.
if you free float the barrel with a bit of silicone at the forearm screw they shoot even better.
Well mine does.

My cousin's uncle had one of those in .22 Hornet back in the 70's. By the time I bought my Hornet, all I could find was the 158 with a standard forearm. It was fun, but the Savage 219 I have now will outshoot it.

I shot some more of these mouse farts over a chronograph if anyone is interested:
5.0x700x=1020fps
5.3x700x=1060fps
6.3x700x=1185fps
If youre using 700x I'd like to know what numbers youre getting

Looks like fun! I've got the itch to shoot a little this afternoon, might have to throw a few .459 slugs down range.
