I am in the process of restoring one of these old suckers and am stuck. I am can't seem to figure out how to remove the primer actuator. I'm guessing it screws out because of the flat ground spots...but notnsure...HELP!!

Hi,
Yes! It screws on but the screw part is small so be careful! If you snap it you have problems!

I would put some penetrant on it and just be careful. Look on the last page of this manual and the schematic will show the part! #86742

Hi,
Nothing to it! Take the black primer feeder off and slide on a regular primer tube . Then get a bigger steel tube for a blast shield from the hardware store. Drill and tap for a thumbscrew to bear against the primer tube.

Then make a primer follower rod from brass or aluminum. Helps if you attach a short peice of brass for some weight! Look at pics! Easy really and works a LOT better than the original!

if your using the lee auto disk do you need the riser to get it higher for the primer tube??

I have two of the green machines. Once they are tuned up they
work well. RCBS does still have most of the parts available. When
I have been on this sight for 30 days I will be allowed to post them
for sale. One is 100% complete and the other is over 90%.
