i have one of the old Midway lubrisizer heaters, the one that adjusts with the screw in it.
I also have a Lyman 45 sizer.
Is it a good ideal or not safe to drill and tap this heater for mounting the Lyman 45 sizer on it?:coffee:

................I thought they came pre-drilled for various lube-sizers. I guess not, eh?

This heater fits RCBS, Lyman 450, Saeco, Star. I believe the Saeco and Lyman 45 use the same mounting holes. They are the 2 farthest spread holes near the bottom of the plate. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
If you drill the base plate in the area where mounting holes are on this one, you won't hurt anything. Under the control box you can see where the heating element goes.

A light dimmer SW is an easy way to controle the heat. Low cost and safe.

Mould maker,

With the Midway you don't need a heat control as they already have one in the unit. The small hole with the screw head visible is the adjustment, clockwise to increase the heat and counter-clockwise to decrease the heat. A very nice unit, I wish they still marketed them.

I made a control unit using a light dimmer to control my Lyman heater, it works fine and is very easy to make.
