Another day of 15mph + winds and 23 degrees. Out with the little one, and she pointed some mice... But she then started to find some roosters, which the old retrobate and I took turns missing. Day-um! We missed three, and they were in the open. Sorry, Belle.

On the last leg back to the truck, she put up one out in the open, maybe 75 yards or more... just too much wind.... Then when we were about 100 yards out from the truck, she started to run to the truck, back to me, to the truck, back to me... When I was @ 30 yards out, she stayed close to the truck. When she has the option of running over the road, I really appreciate it when she stays with the truck

just remember...

a bad day hunting is better than a good day at work.

How is a good day in the field with a friend and a good dog a failure? Sounds like complete success to me.

A good hunt doesn't always equate with bringing game home.

My last bird dogs first day afield she squared 5 feet from the truck and just stayed there thought maybe she was peeing after a few minutes I yelled at her to hunt em up! She took two.steps and a rooster took off I didn't even have shells in the shotgun she turned around and barked at me once, like saying hey dummy in find em you shoot em that's the deal cause I aint got thumbs!

We came back to the truck one day and were standing around talking. My lab Misty went on point and was looking at my foot. We all looked at her for a couple minutes wondering what the heck she was pointing at until my brother told me I was standing on a roosters neck.

YUP! LOL

FIL used to be owned by a dog that would sniff his gun and look at him in utter disappointment when he missed. OK I am now certain you shot, what the ____ is wrong with you?!
