I happened to find an LBT mold on Ebay, a 340gr .453 WFNPB for the 45 Colt and 454 Casull. I am planning on running this bullet between 1000 and 1200 FPS.

Groo here
First , what 454 will you be using it in? I doubt it will work in an FA.
Second, Is your 45colt a ruger large frame/or red hawk-super redhawk or other long / large cylinder revolver. Cool.
I am not a Heavy or super heavy boolet person for most hunting. 250 to 280gr being all that is needed for most shooting.
I had my run with heavies [ SSK 357,41,44,and 45's]
If you like them , and your gun does , have at it!!!!!
My rule of thumb is, A flat nose bullet of at least 64% of the diamiter.
Weight such that I can get 1100 to 1200 fps or If I can't , as fast as I can safely.
But the super heavies are for BIG stuff.

That is awesome. I would use dental wax .060" sheets to make soft gas checks, I have some 340gr SSK TC that are almost the same exact boolit which work very well over the wax, with 22.0gr W296. I can only get 1,000f/s out of a short barreled Vaquero, you would need a 7 1/2 incher to get more, and I am not sure you will get an honest 1200 in a Ruger without cracking the 30,000psi ceiling. Casull, yes.

I will be running these in a FA 454 and a Ruger SS Bisley .45 Colt. The FA shoots the same bullet, only gas checked and 5 grains lighter very well at midrange, hoping this one follows suit. The Ruger will sling this bullet well, and past the point where I don't like the recoil before the pressures top out.

First shots with the new to me LBT bullet, 25 yards, right around 1200fps. The high shot was the fouler. Did equally well at 60 yards.
