Has anyone fooled with necking .38 Special brass to .32, running .300 AAC Blackout reamer in short? Shorten .300 Blackout dies by 0.22" and use. 38 Special shell holder, and. 32-20 or H&R Mag. load data?
I'm going to jump into that pool. Any prior art?

I currently have a .30 Reece which sounds approximately the same thing. The original case calls for a shortened .357 case (1.165). I use a .38 special case, the difference doesn't seem to matter an iota. I had MGM make me a 1-10 T/C carbine barrel. I have ran a large variety of bullets including 311008, 311316, 140 grain Milhec Sledgehammer, 314-640, 100 grain plain base and 314-115 G/C. Performed well with RedDot, Unique, 7625, BE. Everything was lubed with 50/50 and sized to .312. Velocity was 1200-1250, verified over my chrony. Nice round, peppy and very accurate. There was a man who posts here came up with a round based solely on a .38 special case, .30 Badger and a number of folks here have made firearms chambered in it. The reloading of this particular version utilized a series of different dies in various calibers, if I remember correctly. Everyone who had experience with it seemed well pleased, with performance equalling or edging a 32-20. The data for the .30 Reece that I received from Carson Reece is considerably stouter, pushing 100 grain bullets to 2370 and up to 165 grain to 1458 fps in a 24" T/C. I like mine a lot.

Check out the .300-221 Rimmed. Basically, a .300AAC made from a .357 Magnum case. This makes the .300AAC work a bit better in single shot rifles that have problems extracting rimless cases.

The various .30/357 cartridges I have listed around here have about the same capacity as a .32-20. One using .38 special brass would be a bit smaller. You could go a little shorter and make a rimmed .30 Mauser/7.62x25, or use that data as another possible starting point.

Thanks everyone for the info. That was what I am looking for. I'm not looking to see how hot I can load it, I just want to launch a 130-135 grain bullet at subsonic rifle velocity for low noise, and would let velocity go in the revolver where ever it does. Using the Blackout reamer with virtually no body wall taper to the case should mitigate the bottlenecked case setback issue in the revolver, as will also sticking to light loads. I was figuring capacity will be close to the .32 H&R Magnum and planned on using that as a starting point, probably about 3 grains of Bullseye with a bullet like this one:

What difference would you expect to see with a plain base bullet vs. the bevel base , all other specs of the bullet remaining the same ?

Do a search here on this forum for the 30 Badger. It has what you want.

Bevel base bullet reduces finning when throat diameter bullet is extruded upon entering a tighter bore.

I'm about to do just what you are asking about for a customer. He is sending a rifle and pistol and a set of dies. The dies will need to be shortened and the chambers cut to the length of the sized brass.

14 grains of water capacity with bullet seated.

I have almost exactly the same thing in a TCR83. The case capacity is almost exactly the same as 32-20 and that has been the bulk of my load data. Haven't played with it in a while bu plan to get it going again for spring time. I used the Seaco 140 cowboy bullet and chose the 38Special case since I have "a bunch".
Only issue I see with the blackout chamber is the long throat for the really heavy bullets. Really wish I had done mine on something light an small, like a Browning Low Wall :)

Key is to make bullet with enlarged forepart to fit throat, which Accurate 31-134D does

Interesting, I had wondered if you were using a custom reamer. Need to check my slug, don't remember dia, may need to look into an update and new mould :)

John Taylor is doing this for me using a standard Blackout reamer.

Accurate 31-134D is normally dimensioned for the .32 H&R Magnum and .327 Federal, but can be ordered in a smaller diameter.
