Got my first deer with the Rossi .357 mag, shooting cast boolits today!
she stepped out of the thick stuff about 65 yards out and I cut the ol' Rossi loose on her, 1 shot and she dropped where she stood!

Looks like I'll be eating venison jerky soon!

Good job! That looks like a good eating deer too.

I have one of the Rossi '92 clones in .45 Colt I need to work with more, nice gun and would owrk well on deer in the conditions I usually hunt under.

Good job and that will be some good table fare.

I have the Marlin lever's and I am about to add a Rossi...matter of fact, I just came over here from gunbroker, having a look at the 92's that were available.

I would like more info on your load please.

The load is 17 grains of Lil' Gun in Winchester brass, sparked by a CCI 500 primer under an unsized ( they fall from my mold just a shade over .358) Lee TL 358-158 swc. Cast out of AC COWW. Tumble lubed with strait Lee liquid alox. I haven't ran it thru the chrony yet but I'd estimate it to be around 1750-1800 fps.

Congratulations meat in the freezer and on the table.

I have some Lil Gun that I decided against using in the pistola, maybe I will burn it behind 358477 or 358156 in my Rossi since I have not found any load that seems to work for the heavier boolits.

I really like Lil' Gun for full snort hunting loads so far! More velocity at lower pressure with good accuracy is a win in my book! I have used it in my blackhawk as well and seems to do fine in it but I don't shoot a lot of full throttle hunting loads. So as the saying goes, your mileage may vary.

Is your boolit gas checked?

Is your boolit gas checked?
Nope, plain based. I can get away with the higher speed in the Rossi due to the slow 1-30 twist rifling. It's not near as hard on the boolit as a 1-16 twist.
