I did a few chamber castings and got .3095 for the bore. The TE measures at 2.5 but the casting shows that the diameter until the rifling starts is .312 (~.25" from end of case neck). It looks like it was intentially cut that way I can see the machining marks. Anyways, I'd kinda like to try that 311284 load, (or listen to other personal recommendations), So.. what would be the appropriate size for this bore and throat? I don't understand how the throat affects sizing. The internet also tells me that the 311284 will cast around .311... would that be big enough given the throat?

Thanks!

.................Some 311284 moulds will drop at .311", but no guarentees. I have a 30 year old 2C 311284 and with lino it will make .310" and just a bit. Sizing to the throat is usually a good thing so long as the throat and groove differance isn't outrageous.

One of the Lee 312-155-2R or the 312-160-2R might be just the ticket.

311299 or 314299 is my choice for the '06 in either M1s or M1903s. I'd mic the inside of a couple fired cases and if it mic's larger than 312 I'd size at 312.
