I have a chance to get some CBC brass. I have not heard of this brass before. Is it good or bad? Thanks in advance.

Good stuff. Appears to be normal WW,REM, etc, and not thick like Hornady/Starline. ... felix

IIRC, it is sold under the Mag-tec name.

...............CBC is the parent company for Mag-Tech. The only CBC brass I have used, besides their 24 and 32 ga brass shotshells, was some 6.5x55 Swede. Back in the early 90's when M96 Swede Mausers were $59 each and M38's were $79 each by the boxcar loads, there wasn't much choice for the ammo besides Norma. Or remodeling something else to make it.

So once Century Int'l advertised CBC 6.5 Swede for a pretty friendly price. Simply superb ammo, with brass that is correct in all dimensions and not the standard Mauser .473" casehead. I forget how much I bought, but I still have some of it and it's had the bejazus shot out of it in the meantime.

Thanks for reminding of those prices buckshot! I had an 01 FFL and bought (and sold) quite a few of those beautiful mausers. Now ask me how many I kept? Only two, only two! And I told my customers what a great deal it was at the time! Would have been a better investment than my 401K!

easy ed, I've used CBC in the 6.5 x 55mm Swe. Mau. and was impressed by its longevity. I'm currently using Mag Tech (nee CBC) brass in my .44mag. and thus far, have experienced no problems.

I've recovered CBC brass from Mag Tec brand .357 ammo. It's always been good stuff.

I will give a plus 10 on the above as I have used it in 45 Colt with good results. The 44-40 I don't care for as much because of the deep cannelure in the case.

what can the 32ga be made into

..............Well, other then a 32 ga shotgun (which I don't have, but would be a use) I use it to create 11x42R Comblain brass, below:

The adhesive paper is there because the hulls are a bit shy of being the right OD. The paper takes up the windage and allows the cases to expand evenly. After a couple firings the tape can come off. These have been converted to use the 209 primer, from their original Berdan primer. The new Mag-Tech cases now take boxer primers. They're make a heckuva BPC! Something like a 54 cal or so.

I've got a nice handful of Magtech brass in .45acp. Tends to be good stuff. Cleans up well, and holds up too.
