Hi all, i never got any accuracy with a spring gun and they are loud. Any opinions on a powerful accurate 22?
Thanx happy holidays

I have a Crossman nitro venom that's a little more powerful than my RWS 34, but not nearly as accurate. It is a lot quieter and easier to break open also. Like I said though, accuracy isn't in the same class and neither is the trigger. I would read the reviews on nitro pistons and choose one of those.

I can't offer an opinion on precharged, I never owned one, or pump guns, though a friend swears by his Sheridan.

Not happy with the accuracy of your springer? What is it? My RWS 34 isn't even broken in yet and it does very well at 25 yds. It is a bit loud, but still the best overall value in in my opinion in adult air guns.

Diana, RWS, Beeman or Weihrauch. Pick one you like. Tough to go wrong. Plenty accurate and powerful. It takes some practice to learn how to spring gun.

An old Sheridan kicks butt too. Finding .20 pellets are tough so best to mail order a bunch.

I don't have any air rifles that make less noise than a .22 CB cap out of a rimfire.

Pneumatic rifles are just loud. I have a suppressed 77/22 that makes less noise firing a CB long round than it does dry firing (as long as the bullet impact is distant).

I've got a RWS .22 air rifle and it seems to be on par with a bolt action firing a .22 CB and the CB might make less noise.

How difficult is it, in your jurisdiction, to get a sound suppressor? In the UK for an ordinary firearm, it requires special authorization which is free, but has to be argued for. (It used to be difficult, but has changed since the authorities got scared of being sued for hearing loss by someone they had refused.) But the identical rimfire suppressor can be bought over the counter without authorization or registration, if it is for an air rifle. That seems very much in keeping with the spirit of the legislation.

The Marauder has a Built in Full barrel shroud with air stripper .. Works just like a silencer but somehow gets by the suppressor regs

Marauder is WHISPER quiet in .25 cal, I don't think .22 is going to be any louder.

The built-in shrouds these days (see Benjamin Marauder and others) make shrouded pre-charged pneumatics extremely quiet. All you typically hear is the hammer hitting the air valve.

I just bought a stoeger x20s in 22 cal, for a air rifle under 150 I was surprised at how quiet it is and very accurate with plenty of power, Will have to run over the crony but it was putting hole through 2 sheets of 18 gauge steel at 30 yards with no problem.

Here's another option. Some say the quality is quite a bit higher than the benjaman. I'm getting a PCP myself sometime next year, just haven't made up my mind on which .22.
