Before internal adjustments were well sealed and reliable. Bet it would be expensive to
make.

You probably would not want to bump the mount by rough handling. But the good news is it references a bunch of other patents for related inventions so lots of time can be spent researching.

Had a set of those on a Husky 270 one time with the Buehler 4x scope and after 60 years the scope was as clear as a new one and the adjustments held perfect. My Father in Law had one on a Winchester 270 that he bought in 1947 or so and he finally installed it in 1995. It's still on the rifle and still shoots to POA.
