What dies should I get for lead boolits in the Marlin? I am tempted to try the RCBS cowboy dies. Would that be a good choice?

I bought a lee set that has a full length sizing die a seating die and a factory crimp die. They work just fine. I dont think the rcbs cowboy would do any better

If you are planning to use cast boolits, the Lyman Cowboy dies have a separate expanding and belling die (M Die). It will probably expand your neck slightly larger than the Lee. This will allow you to seat cast .310/.311 boolits much easier and will negate the necessity of buying a separate Lyman M Die or the RCBS equivalent for the job.

I use standard Lee dies and bought a Lee universal expander die to expand case necks from .223 and going on up.

RCBS Cowboy dies work better for me than regular RCBS dies but quite frankly haven't tried the Lyman or Lee, I load four cartridges with Cowboy dies and any new die sets will be the RCBS Cowboy dies if available. I like the sizing die because it doesn't undersize the brass, the expander works like the Lyman M-Type and the seat/crimp die is capable of a very uniform roll crimp. On top of all that I find the finish attractive. Quite honestly I can't ask for anything more.

Any quality die set will work but I would add a good expander like the Lyman M die.

I really like the Lee universal expander and factory crimp die. They make great .30 WCF rounds with boolits.

If starting from scratch, I like this idea. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I already had most of my die sets before I got into shooting cast boolits so I am now buying neck expander dies seperatly.

Hmmmm....off to hunt some RCBS Cowboy dies for my cast boolit loading needs.
