Wasted time at the loading bench...

Finally made it to the range today to test some loads I had for my son's 308 with full-length gas checks...

The first load I tested, turned in an honest 1/2" group at 100 yards.

Time to pull some bullets...[smilie=b:

Times like this I wish I had my own range, load one and shoot it!

That's the reason I don't gamble...Whenever I am loading up a batch of new loads..I just KNOW that a certain bullet or powder charge won't shoot..so I only load a few of these and concentrate on the ones I am sure will..As my luck usually has it..those few are the only ones that do shoot! Makes range loading worthwhile.

Nope!

The bad part is pulling the bullets from all the other loads I had sitting there!

Shot them - maybe you'll find a load that will do 3/8 or 1/4 inch groups - jeez

Get a Lee Loader hand tool or a Lee Hand Press for regular dies and load at the range. Do all the prep work at home including priming and all you need is a scale to weigh powder and then seat the bullet.

I shot some of them... I doubt you could hit Montana with them if'n you were standing in downtown Billings...

Certainly not a waste of time. I've spent many hours at the loading bench that haven't resuted in a .5" group. Congrats and good luck on your CB endeavors.

I take reloading equipment to the range. I asked the range master before I reload and have never been turned down.
