Curious if anyone else enjoys this classic.

Here is a version of it with a few ads. Always love watching this before deer opener.

It looks as though I will be adding that title to my collection.
I always watch the deer hunter series with Curt Gowdy before the gun deer season

I am originally from Iowa, but I've bee in Michigan for the last 10 years and made quite a few visits here before that (my wife's family is here). One thing I've learned about the people of MI. The ones that don't have a sense of humor hate the movie, the ones that do love it. I find it absolutely hysterical. If you are not from MI, there are a lot of "inside jokes" you won't get, but its still a hoot.

I think that movie is funny too, and try to watch it before each deer season. My wife is from Eskie and graduated from nearby Gladstone H.S. She makes it known that not everyone from there acts like they do in the movie, but she loves that they really did film parts of the movie in town and used local residents as extras.

Deer camp I used to go to outside traverse had a couple trailers and a skid of beer. Hunting sucked pretty bad but the fellowship was great.

Hunters chased a doe up into my yard today. Saw her laying down out back in the brush strip I can't mow(to much debris from an old chicken coop). I walked within 10 feet and she just lay there panting. Knew she reached safety in town.

First half of that movie is hilarious...then it gets a little weird. But still a great watch.

Ive lived in upper Michigan all my life and in Escanaba for 6 years. The reason people up here dislike it is it portrays us as a bunch of stupid hillbillys. that and jeff daniels is a piss poor actor and a worse director. I was actually excited when it came out and found it to be about stupid and poorly done. About like portraying everyone from Tennessee as moonshine drinking still operating hillbillys or everyone from California wearing flowers in there hair. I think if he made a fool out of the way you live or go to camp youd think a bit differently about it too. I thought it was suppose to be about a up hunting camp and they didn't even come close to portraying what ones like and in the second part of it went off on some tangent that I didn't even understand. it isn't even a decent b movie. Even the critics at the time tanked it. I think one said it wasn't worth a quarter to see.

Llyod it was only supposed to be humor no more no less My father enjoyed it he was raised part of the time around Ewen i would of liked to see how my grandfather would have liked it he was Born in Calumet in 1898 and hunted the U.P. a lot. He passed away before it was out one thing they did miss was someone yelling DAY LIGHT IN THE SWAMP TIME TO GET UP!

I found it mildly humorous. Kimberly Guerrero is rather easy on the eyes.
