I've just bought a old Lyman 45, from scrounger noted on their website that the Lyman 450 gas check seater will not work on the Lyman 45.
Haven't had much experience with luber-sizers yet other than Lee, is this going to be a problem seating gas checks now? If so, do I have any options?

It has not been a problem for me yet. I just put the check on the base of the bullet by hand. Sometimes tap it on the bench to make sure it is all the way on and run it through the sizer.

As far as I am concerned the gas check seater is a waste of time and an extra step. I check and size the same as Plater, and have been doing so for many years.

I had a seater around for years, and finally asked about it on the old Shooters board. General consensus was, extra scrap iron.

The only time I use the gas check seater is when I don't want to size down the bullet but shoot it as cast and want a gas check on it. If you are sizing and seating the gas check you do it all in one step without the gas check seater.
