I have a Pedersoli Sharps 45-70 "Sportsman" model.
Would a fore-stock for a Billy Dixon, or Quigley fit my "Sportsman" ??
I like the silver tip on the above models.
Secondly, any advice on where to buy it if it would fit ??
All help appreciated.

The fore end tip is usually pewter (tin), not silver. You will probably have to fit a new fore end.

You could contact someone like John King or some other gun builder to pour one for you. I pour my own nose caps.

Parts for Pedersoli Sharps rifles seem to be quite uniform.
I ordered a new buttstock for my rifle, and it went on snugly with no 'fitting' required.

I am not familiar with the 'Sportsman" model.
Is it possible that you have the 'Sporting #3' model, like this http://www.davide-pedersoli.com/scheda-prodotto.asp/l_en/idpr_207/rifles-1874-sharps-rifle-1874-sharps-sporting-3.html ?

Does yours have an octagon barrel?
If yes, measure the width of the barrel at a point 10 inches from the front face of the receiver.
My Billy Dixon is 1.030" at that point.

A Quigley forend would fit a wider (heavier) barrel, and I don't have that measurement for you.

Hi Montana Charlie:
I measured my octagon barrel "Sporting" Sharps, and it is indeed, 1.030 at a point 10" from face of receiver.
I would assume then, that a forend from a Billy Dixon would likely fit.
Is there a better source for such a forend than Pedersoli?
Thanks in advance for your help and advice.
