121082 This is a group fired from My 91/30 Mosin Sniper. IMR 4064 with Speer hot core 150 gr. Spitzer at 100 yds. The trigger is the lightest longest pull I have ever experienced. I know this is for cast bullets but I have very bad eyes and I was impressed with this rifle. What a go to load for Jacket bullet hunting!

That's fantastic.

I've never been a big fan of Mosin Nagant rifles, but groups like that are impressive regardless of what they are fired out of.

Try using a heavier bullet with a higher b.c.
I've been able to group slightly less than 1 moa with my 44 Izhevsk Pu sniper using 180-182 grainers Privy Partisan and Wolf Gold ammo.

I never liked them either. Then I saw the show Life Below Zero and I watched a native Alaskan woman make some unbelievable kills with an old Mosin. She shoots better with her $125 rifle than most people do with a $1000 rifle. I still don't want one, but I respect them.

52grs of H4350 and the 174gr HPBT Sierra has been my goto load for numerous Mosins. Just do not try to reach the lands with any of them. Let them jump.

Blasphemer blasphemer, say it ain't so. How could you not like cheap durable powerful old war horse rifle that lobes cast? It is a real nice group.

I have found d that to be true in the 12 or so I've worked with, they seem to do better seated off the lands. Can't say yet its a scientific fact but its been a 100% thing in all the ones I've played with, even a Finnish one that I didn't own but had free rein of.

Thats a fine group. Good shootin.
I use a heavy dose of IMR 4064, under a Hornaday 150 SP. I shoot this load out of my sporterized Model 44.
This bullet will consistently group 1" to 1.25" at 100 yards. Very fine for the short 20" bbl.
I have some other 180 grain rn bullets that will stay in 1" or under at 100 yards, with the same IMR 4064 powder.
IMO, I believe the IMR 4064 powder is the ideal powder for the short 20" bbl. Not too slow, 4350, not too fast, 4895, but just right to get a full burn, and slow enough to build up a full head of steam in the boiler room just right.

The powder the round was originally loaded with, called Russian 4895 by Jeff Bartlett, burned about 4064 speed.

I also loaded IMR4350 with the 174 Gr match king. It scattered them at about 4" at 100. I will try your load and let them jump. What i found so cool was I simply set the little target on the top of the post and squeezed them off. I had a fried say I was using a 6"target until I pointed out the T50 staples holding the 2"x 2" target to the backboard. I have a swamp on my place where I plan to try and take a deer in a few weeks with it. Thanks for all the comments!

If going after deer, the 180 gr Speer 0.311" SP is an awesome bullet. Use your 4064. But what you have right now will kill any deer on the planet. I would load a few more up with the load you have to verify it, and get yourself a deer. Plenty of time to mess around with other things later.
