It seems that somewhere, or some how, I lost the trigger adjusting screw to one of the Contender(G1) frames. Oh, I suppose I could make a call to the folks at S&W but based on previous experience, I'd rather not.

Anyone happen to know what the proper size Allen head screw might be? It would be part#36 in the schematic.

Don't be discouraged by what you hear about how Smith is handling T/C customer service. I have dealt with then recently and I expected to be paying $30 at least but it cost me nothing. The part was to my door for free. That's the service I remember from years gone by.

FLHTC,

Without going into all the details, my last experience with them was less than pleasant, but I may be forced to. That particular size screw (#36-3) doesn't seem to be available thru any of the sources I've checked, i.e. Brownells, McMasterCarr & some others I can't remember just now.

Although that screw is shown as a 36-3 it seems to me that the #'s should be reversed, although I may be wrong. Been wrong before.

I just looked at their site. I would give them a call I would be really surprised if they did not have them.

Well my email to them got me a reply with an incorrect part number. I called to verify the part and when I spoke to a very knowledgeable man, he brought up the drawing of my gun and quickly corrected the issue and politely told me it would be no charge. I've been searching the auction sites for months for the part and I got it within days from Smith. I give them credit. They are trying to satisfy T/C customers and doing better at it all the time.

oh I took my screw out and measured it. It's diameter is .108 and it is .250 long and has 10 threads on it. That makes it a 4-40 thread size but you might not be able to easily find one that long.
It requires a 1/16th allen wrench

Absolutely Mike Bellm. He will probably have all your T/C needs and answers to questions. He has a Contender over travel screw kit available
