Hi All,

I hope everyone is doing well and I am looking for a recommendation for a reputable seller of ingots for casting some boolits.

I am looking for a minimum of 10# and a max of 25# right now.

These will be for 38SWC and some 45acp 200 swc. I am planning on playing some more with my enfields so will be looking to cast for those as well.

thanks for any direction you can lend !

10 pounds won't get you very far...25 pounds won't either for that matter. Remember lead is heavy my friend. Check the swapping/selling section. More often than not though, they are selling a Flat Rate box that will weigh around 65 pounds pounds.

You can usually get smaller quantities if you want but shipping costs will drive up the pound-per-dollar costs you pay. The most economical way I know of to buy lead is to get it here on the forum in ~68lb MFRB.

You can usually buy SFRBs of lead for around $25, which will include about 20 pounds of lead shipped to you. This is a very common way to ship, as it's not much more expensive than shipping MFRBs and is much easier on everyone who has to handle the box. Look in the S&S section.

Stick with 25#. That easily fits in a SFRB for $5.90 shipping. Otherwise you are paying the same shipping for less weight!

25# lasts me about 2 good range session, shooting 220,255,300gn 45LC slugs!

You laugh now....

I have had range sessions with family that will eat up 50 pounds. A 50 cal, 300 Blackout, and 9mm AR will eat it fast, and furious. To much fun with cast hollow-points.

Laugh all you want my friend. That is just a normal fun day shooting big boolits. If all you shoot is 9mm and 223, then yes that may sound like a lot. Try some big ones sometime! That is only 23 rounds of 300gn 45LC per pound. That's why I have over a ton of lead.

Go on and spring for a MFRB for about $80 +or- a bit. 68 pounds isn't really a lot of lead. I've bought from 3 vendors here and not had an issue at all. Pick one!
