I just finished lubing the piston on my Nitro. The piston had NO lube on it at all and was very dry. Front seal was OK so I just put some silicone chamber oil on it upon reassembly. Seems to cock and shoot a lot better.

I bought this one to do some experiments with. In the near future, I will be bedding the chamber area, trigger work, etc.

The rifle shoots well and I am sure with some tweeking it should be better.

Anyone with more tips on how to make this one work a little better??

Debur and polish the entire exterior of the piston and hone the compression chamber. Little moly paste on the bearing surface of the nitro spring where it meets the piston.

Mine likes the Crossman long range pellets best of anything I've tried in it so far.

Had it and the R1 out today. The Venom is much smoother and shoots better (IMO) than it did before. Just got too windy to do any accurate shooting with it though. Broke the cocking foot on the Beeman, so did not shoot it much at all. All in all, a good day out at the range.
