I am a newbie to the 444 Marlin. With the help of several members of this forum, I have learned about various cast boolits, and their proper sizing, for use in this rifle. With their help, I have acquired a small quantity of these boolits of various weights (240gr - 300gr) to try in the rifle. Now comes the hard part. Most references for reloading the 444 Marlin show recipes for jacketed boolits. If cast boolits are given, the recipe provides for a light charge in the 1500 - 1600 fps range. I am interested in loading something more substantial as in the 1800 - 2100+ fps range.

Does anyone have favorite recipes that they can share to load 240-290gr cast boolits in the 444 Marlin? If not, can anyone direct me to a source of such recipes? If so, I would like to try them in this rifle. Thanks.

Also, check the tech notes at www.beartoothbullets.com (http://www.beartoothbullets.com) for articles on the triple-4. Lots of good info on reloading cast bullets....especially hard cast at high velocities in the Marlin 444.
