I did a couple of these a while back, dunno what I did with them either. But anyway I had someone ask me about these and before I dive into yet another project I'm trying to gauge interest for the 41AE case.

These will be formed from new 41mag cases, so the end product will be new by all accounts but with a different head stamp on it.

Also.....if someone can post a link on some detailed drawings I would appreciate it, my google-foo isn't what it used to be.

Since the 41AE cases are reaching the status of unobtanium, I would think it would be a good one, but I wonder if it would be worthwhile for you. I'd love to get some, but what would the cost be? I have a fairly decent stash of new cases but more would definitely be better. Give me a holler if you decide to go ahead with it.

I'll look for a cartridge drawing.

It's the lower 1 that I needed. Even though I need to do the math to convert it that 1 shows me more details.

Thanks I appreciate it.....

I've been fooling with the 41ae for a long time, and its a neat conversion, and I like it, that being said I wonder if the cost to make it from new 41 cases is worth it. I dont know what machinery you are utilizing(you want to buy a second operation chucker???) but its still a lot of hand operations. what do you project as a final sale price? $1.00 a round?, thats cheaper than the listed Midway price, and I have tried to sell some of my factory primed brass at $.75 a round and got nothing PM squeeks.

Devil advocate here, I dont doubt you've mulled the process thoroughly, just doesnt seem to be a great demand that I've noticed. If you need a test barrel, I've got HP stuff still stashed somewhere. Another thought that bothered me is the thickness of the brass at the extractor ring, std AE is small pistol primer, 41mag is Large pistol, that only leaves you .065 or so wall thickness. and that is a completely un supported area when fired. think 5.7x28, I lost more cases to primer pockets than any other cause.

I hear a rum and pepsi calling, You ask, thats my two cents, hope its useful.

There have been others making the 41AE from 41Mag brass with no issues. I realize there's a lot of hand operations but keep in mind there's other conversions I do that have more than the 41AE does. You should try your hands on the 5.45x39 I'm currently doing, or the 35Rem from 308 brass that seems to be rather popular right now.

I have a thread on the upcoming conversions in the VS section of the site under my name.

Sorry I'm late to the party.

I would be interested in some brass if cost prohibitive.

Thanks!

All anyone has to do is look in the VS section of the site. I try and keep it up to date as best I can, all a person needs to do is click the thread they're interested in.
