I had a little time and a bit of motivation so I filled up the pot and did a test run with my new mold. To say I am pleased would be severe understatement.
My Lee handles fit with no modifications necessary. Gotta love the NOE handle screws!
Alloy was my usual soup, range scrap with 1% of extra tin, 750° according to the thermometer.
Maybe 10% rejects, once the mold got hot, and those were not really BAD bad.
Actual weight was just under 169 average with extreme spread of about 1.5 gr.
Diameter was .3125 to .3127, dead on for round as far as I'm concerned.
I'm so much in love it's almost enough to make my sticker peck out. :)
Now to get the Star set up and get them ready to slide down the tube, I think I'll throw a little 3031 behind them and see how they like 1600 or thereabouts.
