Score at a small town gunshow this weekend...

I was browsing junk boxes this morning at a small gunshow, found this box... the fella said it was new, from a trade be he had not tried it at the time and that it would not turn on. No marks what so ever, price 6 bux!!! I have been looking for a good buy on a 4 inch caliper for years but was to cheap to spend $140 on a good one. So, bought it went and got a battery... I have a Harbor Freight special, I do however have a couple of mechanical dial calipers but too lazy to use them.

I have been using a dial caliper for years, older eyes now and the digital works great with my readers on!

Got my set of digital calipers out a few days ago and they wouldn't work either. Hmmm ... hardly used them so I don't THINK the battery is dead? Went and bought some new batteries anyway and ... "Voila" ... my calipers work again! Thought to self ... "So why would the batteries die so fast in my calipers if I'm not using them much?" Answer ... when you open the lid of the case that has a soft foam liner bottom and TOP you find that the foam presses on the "On" button and it is left on and running in the case! New note to self: "Take the battery out of my digital calipers when I put them back away in the case ..." :roll:

Great price on a very nice set of calipers.I have used the same in 6" going on 9 years on an almost daily basis.It still amazes me how long those batteries will last.

I just sold a well used 6" Mitutoyo Digimatic with case that I used at work for probably 20+ years till I retired to a guy for $60 and he couldn`t stop thanking me for such a deal! But your deal is also called a "steal"!Robert
