I recently acquired a 40 S&W setup. To be precise, a Taurus 101. I have fired 180 grain and 165 grain factory loads and 175 grain cast loads through this pistol with good results. I am currently looking at lighter weight boolits to take the load off my lead supply.
Under consideration are the Lee 145 grain swc boolit, the Lyman 150 grain tc boolit, and the NOE 150 grain fn boolit.
Powders I have available are Bullseye, AA7, SR4756, and WST.

Which boolit and or powder combination have you had success with?

Any other recommendations would be appreciated. I may have trouble acquiring other powders though.

I'd be confident loading 3-3.2 gr of Bullseye with a 180.. I've been having really nice target ammo with 3.2 of Clays (Bullseye is in the same burn range). I'd use similar data with 170's.. maybe bump .2 - .4 gr.

I'd go up to 3.5 - 4 gr of Bullseye with the lighter bullets. I was loading 3.8-4.2 gr of Ramshot Competition for several years before switching to Accurate Solo 1000 at about the same charge weight. I use these loads in a 1911 widebody with a 13# recoil spring and also in a S&W 610 revolver. Very low recoil and nice accuracy.
