Has anyone tried the GB carbine bullet in a larger rifle like a 308 or 30.06????
I was going to try it in my K31 with 9.0 of 700x.
Seems like, if it doesn't lead the barrel, it would make a good cheap plinking round.

If that is the 120 grain plain-base bullet, 9 grains of 700X may be slightly heavy. In 30-06 my 119 RN PB bullet works with anything from 6 to 8 grains of W231, which is just a smidgen faster than 700X. That is without filler - reduce the load if you use one. FWIW, my best load so far in the 06 is 8 grains of Universal with a polyester tuft - note that the usual warnings about filler apply: do not allow an air space, and do not pack the polyester down. Don't use a filler at all without reading some threads on this site about them. There is no leading with the loads mentioned, but there will be if you overload it. I agree it is cheap plinking, but the point of aim has to be mighty high compared with full loads.
