I found out Friday that I really do have angina. Doc said he needs to see inside so I'm going for a heart cath tomorrow. Heard the procedure is pretty routine today, but gotta admit I'm a bit concerned, as much for my wife as for myself. So, if you think of me tomorrow, you prayer would be appreciated.

I had a heart cath done about two years ago, it was very interesting. I was only partially asleep and watched the monitor as they were checking out my heart. turned out that my arteries were not blocked but my Aorta valve has a birth defect and will need replacing at some point.

I had one 3 years ago......all clear. I was awake (sedated) during the whole thing and a weird cold feeling when the doctor injected the dye. No pain.

But.....follow all the instrucitons from the doctor and nurses right after the proceedure! Most critical!

Do that and you will be fine.

God Bless.

My humble thanks for your prayer, concerns and assurances. Still trying to leave worry in God's hands, since I can't control it anyway. You've helped relieve some of my fears.

Prayers going up for you and the MDs. My dad was on the operating table having a heart cath when he had his first heart attack! I told him he couldn't have found a better place to do it.

So here's the update. Cath went off without a hitch. Doc found 3 major blocks that couldn't be stinted, so now I go for a triple bypass on November3rd. Doc thinks everything looks good for this. needs done, but... My wife is very upset and I'm not thrilled either. Please continue to pray for the family.

Gentlemen and friends,
I came home yesterday. Surgeon, nurses and a lot of other can't believe how well I'm doing. I put that and the glory of a quick recovery in the hands of our father. Dr. Jaiks did the surgery, but God held the knife. My thanks to all of you who prayed, especially for my wife and daughters. My God bless you faithfulness. Buckwheat - can you pm me a good time this week?
Last night was interesting - didn't sleep much, but didn't have much pain either. Four weeks of walking and light exercise, then cardio-rehab. Praise God with me for answered prayer.

That walking part is uber important. Really glad it was a textbook surgery and your recovery is on a better than expected track.
