I finally got to the range today to shoot my older Winchesters. The top one is a '94 30-30 that was my Dad's. It was maunufactured in the late 50's & was his primary Mountain Lion & Bear gun back in the 60's. The middle gun is a '94 25-35 saddle ring carbine that's been in my display case for 20 years! I got it as a prop for the display & was looking at it the other day, wondering if it could shoot! It's from 1907 & was the best tack driver of the trio. The bottom gun is a '92 25-20 that I just bought off of Gunbroker. I've wanted one of these since I was in high school & finally snagged this one at a decent price! It was in really good condition considering it was made in 1911! The loads I made for each gun were: 25-20 5.0 gr. Unique under a 85 gr. Missouri Bullet tumble lubed lfp, 25-35 8.5 gr. Unique under the same 85 gr. Missouri Bullet, 30-30 10.7 gr. Unique under a 135 gr. Missouri Bullet lfp. I didn't get a true grouping on paper for any of them because I forgot my sandbag & rest, but I had a ton of fun shooting clay targets at 40 yards shooting off hand. I didn't bring enough clay targets or rounds for that matter, but all of the loads functioned flawlessly in all of the rifles! I forgot how much fun leverguns are to just plink around with!

A guy can sure waste some ammo busting clays with a lever. lol

I am cheap, but one of these days I'll run across one of those 25/20 that I can afford.

Very nice trio indeed. Paper targets are overrated, sometimes you just have to bust stuff.
