Hi Guys, first time asking here. Didnt find anywhere the answer so someone with lots more experience than I do can help me out.
A friend of mine is keen on doing a 3 die set bullet swage for the 204 cal, but I dont have some dimensions yet.
So, what is the most used range dia. of core seat punches for Bergers to make ±35 gr bullets (.595" jacket)?
Should he make the core seat die almost the final bullet size, somewhere around .2038" ?
What is the swaged core diameter?
What lead wire diameter should I use?
Thanks you!
Cheers

A lot of those questions will be dictated by the jackets that you're planning to use.

As for the core seat die, .2035-.2038 should be fine, with .2035 probably being better to help everything go smoothly from one process to the other.

NoZombies, thanks for that. I mean, I look for some average numbers, bcs he will grind some 5 or 6 core seat punches in .0005" increments.

Corbins says lead wire dia. for the 204 is .125". Just found it, but after the lead is swaged does anyone know the final size/diameter?

I would suggest getting some of the jackets you're planning to use, and take measurements from those. That's really the only way to get good measurements. You'll want the core swage die to give you at least 3-5 thousandths (.003-.005) minimum clearance with the inside of the jackets.
