Yahoo!!!!!!!!! Just fired my rook twice. Made a case from a hornet . Trimmed the rim and cut it roughly to length then sized it with a 25acp die. Trimmed it to final length and loaded a 25acp jword an off we go!

Thanks for all the help and encouragement.

Great job! Now get a good lot of cases formed and figure out what it likes.

Hello, kopper. What rook rifle do you have? I have a W.J. Jeffery side lever in .255 Jeffery. This is nothing more than the .25-20 shortened with the shoulder pushed back..I think Jeffery copied Winchester. I am loading the little Lyman 252435 50gr. So far have only tried TrailBoss at 50yds. Shooting very high..I think velocity is too low..planning to try H4227 if I can find some spare time. Best of luck!

Rook rifles are just too sweet. Mine is an 1887 built H&H side lever in 300Rook. Unfortunately the chamber is egged from blowby, likes to split cases now, it needs a barrel, which will happen next year. I have an LBT mould for it, I have shot about 500 rds thru it with those boolits, using 32 Long Colt brass.
Absolutely a riot on gophers. Smoked a yote with it , also. Really want to get that gun going again.

Have you considered sleeving the Chamber to bring it back to cylindrical shape?
