I don't have enough time to do much swaging these days, but I've been sorting some of my equipment, and was reminded that I've got a very nice set of B&A 7s ogive 6mm dies that I've never used.

It got me to thinking and wondering what folks were doing for 6mm jackets, either commercial, or reclaimed from something else.

I seem to recall something about .22 magnum cases being used by some, but I'm wondering what other options there might be.

There are plenty of 6mm jackets available now, not like in the past. Look up Stay-Moly in PARA. They are match grade and have excellent results. A little over a hundred per 1k.

Yes, the 22 magnum are around 0.24" at the base, above the rim. A different derimming die works with those. Some have tried to derim with a 22LR die and found out the hard way.

I can derim 22 mag brass. I have a pretty substantial supply. I can also make gilding metal jackets. Let me know if I can be of any help.

You could sell the dies to me ;)

LOL... actually, nothing against bullet maker as I have no experience with his product but I have done some swaging using RCE's (Richard Corbin) jackets and they are very reasonably priced.

Rce and Sierra for commercial and 17HMR/22mag work very well for 6mm jackets too.

I would be interested in the "PARA" jackets but I couldn't find any info on them?????????? got a link?

Thanks, I'll give him a call.

I take it no email or website?

That would explain his low prices...
