Hello guys:
took my yugo to range sun.evening, shot 5-5 shot groups with Jacketed bullets
and mil. sights. My 71 year old eyes did ok,all groups were 3"or under at 50 yrds.
can't use open sights any further away,in 3 of the groups 3 of the 5 shots were
1.5" .I felt very proud of myself with those groups as I use a scope in 90% of my
rifle shooting, and my old eyes. don't have mold(8 mm) yet for this rifle. The load
was41.9 grns H-4895, bullet was Hornady sp #3232 150grns, for a book vol. of
2400fps. pleasent load to shoot.

Congrats on your first "foray" with your M-48.

Your eyes must be pretty fair for 71 young years. .......... I don't know about M48 sights but my 24/47's have the confounded inverted "V" front sight ........ so your results rate well in my opinion!

Ted,

Great job! I wouldn't be knocking those old eyes. They're doing pretty darn good at an age where many men can't get out of bed.

Regards,

Dave

Hey Ted,

Most everyone is having good luck with the Lee Round nose boolit in 8mm-myself included.

About 17-18 grains of 2400 will really do a nice job. I tried the 12 grain load of Unique and got almost as good of results.
