I saw this as a group buy on the noe forums. It was a .358" 124gr truncated cone mold. I had always heard that 9mm was first loaded with 124gr truncated cones back in 1908 and if it was good enough for Georg Luger....Anyway saw this mold, said "shut up and take my money" and waited for the buy to get produced. It showed up a couple weeks ago and today I finally got the opportunity to cast with it. Here's the lovelies as cast.

Now I just have to load em up. I'd like to use them in 38 special and 9mm. May try them in .380 as well when I run out of those.

That looks like an excellent design and a good job of casting. Those should work well in just about anything you shoot them through.
I especially like the rebated nose idea. It lest you seat them out of the case further without having contact with the rifling in the barrel.

If the mold will cast a bullet at .358" +, it will be a good multi purpose bullet that would work in the 38 super, 9 mm Luger, 38 Special and 357 Mag.

The one I got with the mixture I use (bhn 15) they drop at .360 and 124gr
Have already cast up 4000.

That will make a great boolit. Really do like that rebated cone too. Solves a potential problem right off that bat.

I just got this mold a couple of weeks ago, and cast a few hundred of them last weekend. Beautiful bullet, drops like hailstones out of the mold. Almost too pretty to powdercoat, but I did it anyway:bigsmyl2:
This is red copper powdercoat from our friend smoke here on the forum.

I just ordered the same from Al today in a 4 cav, had a delightful chat with Al, should be here Thurs, think that is number 15 from Al now, better take an inventory or I might just double order, all are a dream to cast with.

How do they shoot?

Patience, grasshopper, I just PC'd them yesterday. Hopefully I'll get some loaded and shot this weekend.

I'm hoping to find the time myself to finally get these loaded up. Why can't my work life understand and properly respect this project?
