I like that one too. It is sort of a WWII Pacific Campaign version of Herbert Macbride's WWI tome A Rifleman Went to War, which is another must have if you are interested in this sort of thing.

Lt. Col. John George was an active NRA Bullseye pistol shooter up until about 1990 IIRC. He shot many times at Camp Perry and my local area. I shot with him many times. I was too young and ignorant to fully appreciate his sacrifice and service to our country. Godspeed

Thanks for the link. I had the NRA book years ago but don't know where it is now.

Obviously a good observer. Interesting how the fact that he was in a war did not cloud his ability to see the strengths of the Japanese and their equipment in a more or less impassionate light.

I am in the middle of reading this again and noticed that the old NRA version had a lot more material in it. Unless I have totally lost my marbles, after the chapters on the weapons used there was another large section about the fighting in Burma.

Does anyone know if this version available for download anywhere? There were some good tales in that portion of the book.

Me Too! I just finished the book on the link provided by Waksupi and realized that i had run out of pages and noticed that there was no Burma section. Darn
