Winchester model 94, 44 magnum carrier part number U341450190 . Anyone looking for this part U341450190 should know the part number by heart as I is seemingly impossible to find!

I am in need of this part U341450190 and if anyone knows where I can find it I will gladly pay a finders fee.

I also am looking into the possibilities of filing a class action lawsuit against the manufacturer for failure to provide parts for their products. There are 100's of these un-repairable rifles out there and this is ridiculous and un-called for.

We need to band together and force these companies to stand behind and provide support and parts for their products, not just say: Sorry about your luck and the hundreds of dollars you spent, that's discontinued!!!

Winchester will never get another dime of my money!

Midwest Gun Works seems to have it though....

Homestead Parts has those for a side-eject version...

Midway discontinued, can't add to cart. Couldn't find anything on Midwest gun works. Do you have a link directing me to where you stated "seems to have it though"?

Thanks

They apparently don't have it either. Can't add it to the cart. You find me one that's purchasable and I'll pay you a finders fee!

I found the one on homestead parts and dang it is close to my part! I am thinking about purchasing it and trying to do a little filing, maybe it will work?

I had one that had the stamped steel carrier in it and it got bent so I replaced it with the one midway used to sell and it functioned flawlessly. I actually read about the interchangeability in a gunsmith book (don't remember which one) mine was in 30-30 though. It might be worth you asking around if it can get your gun back in the field.

WVKokamoJoe, can you give some details about the malfunction/ breakage of this part. I have a .44 mag Model 94 Angle Eject and am curious. Is your rifle the older model 94, or the AE with the ugly side button safety like mine? My .44 Winchester has been "good to go" so far.

It is one of the newer models with a stamped carrier I believe. The serial number is 6,175,***. Not sure what year it would be as what I've found for the serials to year end at 1991.

I have found 1 that is very close at http://homesteadparts.com/shopcart/commerce.cgi?cart_id=1413131165.9741&product=Winchester_94_POST_64&pid=1897 and am thinking about getting it and filing it to the size of the original if possible or if needed.
I have uploaded 2 pics of my damaged carrier, 1 is where I JB quicked it to get a more precise measurement. If you look at the one at homesteadparts and mine you will see what I am talking about. 119293118984 I tried to get a picture similar to that at homesteadparts. Any insight would be most appreciated.

Google "Classic Firearms & Parts LLC" He got most of the inventory when FNC took over Winchester. I've had very good luck getting odd parts.

No luck at CF&P llc

I bought one of these today, how common is it for this part to break?

From what I have found out by searching for the carrier for mine, A LOT! More-so with the larger caliber .44 like mine though.

Hopefully you will be ok as long as you don't let your cousin look at the rifle and start thinking he is the rifleman. Dry levering or dry cocking, whatever it's called. That's how mine got broke.

Just wanted to update everyone. I went ahead and purchased the carrier from http://homesteadparts.com/shopcart/c...ST_64&pid=1897 (http://homesteadparts.com/shopcart/commerce.cgi?cart_id=1413131165.9741&product=Winchester_94_POST_64&pid=1897). My gunsmith said all he had to do was use a dremel and take down the tower at the rear of the carrier 1.6mm so the carrier would raise enough t allow the tip of the bullet to enter the chamber. Everything works as it is supposed to now!

So, anyone with the same problem I had, here's a fix!

Good Luck All and thanks for everyone's help!

Happy Holidays to ALL!!!

Your thread brings back bad memories of an early 94 in 44mag that I once had. It was Winchesters first attempt to use the 94 for pistol cals and was made in the late 60's/early 70's. It also had a stamped lifter and I ended replacing several of them before sending it down the road and replacing it with a B92 in 44.

Just wondering, what would make the carrier break in the first place? Hard to imagine a lot of stress on it during operation.

Any thoughts?

Will the broken parts mesh together or is there some mising metal? If they will mesh I would try to silver solder them back togeth and do a little re fitting.

Looking at the broken part, that(broken area) being very thin, looks like it's prone to fail.

The OP's rifle is a Model 94AE (angle eject), made in late-1992 or early-1993, with the cast lifter (look for the mold seam lines) that replaced the post-64 stamped part, starting in 1971.

The Model 94 .357 & .44 Mag lifters are made differently than the lifters made for longer "rifle-length" (as opposed to pistol-length) cartridges.

Those broken lifters/carriers are unrepairable, and cannot be successfully soldered or welded.

The reproduction carrier that Homestead carries, is made right here in the Pacific Northwest.
Two CNC mill setups, and one Hortz mill set up, machined out of 4140 alloy steel, 55 carriers made as a first set up run of the tooling, and programs. So long term replacements will now be available.
A direct copy of a factory new carrier, but the best part is added metal on the LH side to make the carrier stronger.
The sample factory carrier used is a powder metal part, not cast, so at one point USRA did some changes in production of the part.
