I'm looking at data for the 45 colt, High Presure. The data I have is for a 5-1/2" pistol. It show 22.2 grains of H110 for 1198 fps and 20.2 grains of LiL'Gun for 1208 fps. The loads are for 300 grain jacketed bullet, I'm shooting a 300 grain GC Lee. This is a 20" rifle. Question, in the rifle which would be faster? Curious, not that I expect any meaningful difference.

I know H110/W296 is a favorite for 45 Colt in carbines, but Lil' Gun is literally the next closest powder to it, so I doubt there's much of a difference. And it sounds like you can save a bit of powder using Lil' Gun so I'd try that first and see if you are happy with it.

I am, I shot it once and accuracy is about the same, it grouped about 2-1/2 inches higher at 40 yards. Funny thing, I had thought I bought some H110 but I couldn't find it so all I could buy was LiL'Gun. This morning I found the H110, on my second bench in a bag, 2 pounds. These things seem to happen more and more, and I'm only 55

The bad news is it gets worse. Sorry about that.....

What are you kidding me....finding two pounds of powder is like finding a $20 in your wash....Whoop, Whoop. Cause for celebration......

LilGun usually has the velocity edge. And it does it at a lower pressure. Tradeoff is heat, literally. Watch your barrel w/ long strings. It's been known to flame cut revolvers. I stopped using it because I don't like burning my hand.
