I have two Argentine carbines. Both numbers matching. Both have bad chambers.
Some idiot ran a .308 reamer in to them.
Still shoots fine, but the shells come out looking strange.
I'm looking for any suggestion on how I might fix the chambers without changing the barrels.

You probably need to set the barrel back at least one turn and recut the chamber.

Gonna take more than that. 308 has a lot less taper on the body. Have you checked it with headspace gauges? Does it headspace properly for the original cartridge or for 308? If it fits 308, then you can likely just neck up regular 308 cases a touch and use them as is. Otherwise you are certainly looking at two new barrels.

Just out of curiosity, Can we see a fired case?

You might consider a 30/06 "Improved" or a .300 Win. Mag. If you set the barrel back, then .308 Win. is a "natural" as some of these rifles were arsenal converted to .308 Win. If so just use .311 or .312 jacketed bullets or Cast lead bullets "to fit the bore". If it "shoots fine" as it is and the headspace checks with a .308 Win. gage, will the looks of the fired brass cause any real problems? Will the fired brass resize to .308 Win? If so, why not use it as is?

I wouldn't advise that unless they are large ring 1909 actions. There might be a problem with the length of the ctg and the strength of the actions if they are small ring model 91's.

See the double shoulder.
Head space fine. Shoots fine.
To shoot it, I neck size and use .314 boolets.
If I could set back the barrel, I'd need to modify the stock.
I'd like to keep it the same caliber.
Both I rate as good, to very good, but for the bad chambers.

I would keep pressure moderate to save cases and don't full length size and keep on shooting. If any one asks what is this just say a argentine improved chamber!

That would clean up with a proper reamer. It looks like they didn't have the pilot right.
