Finally found some bullets for my Tokarev, problem is the bullets are light. 73 grains where my data only extends down to 86 grains. So, I washoping someone could check my numbers to make sure I am being safe. Also, I will chrony them if you can give me a velocity estimate as another check.

Specifics are as follows:
Bullet: 73 gn TMJ RN, about .430" in length and .3115" in diameter
Powder: Red Dot 5.5-6.5 gn
Primer: WSP
OAL: unknown, I expect to seat them about .200" deep for about 1.2143"
Barrel length: 4.625", 1/10" twist.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Dan
The only 73 gr bullet I could find with a length of .430 is the fmj Fiocchi. It shows a diameter of .308.
5.1 grs of red dot appears to be a max load, with a velocity of 1447 fps. pressure is estimated at 34,220 psi. Quickload shows a max of 34,809 for this cartridge.
5.5 grs shows 39,287 psi.
I'm not sure about a .3115 diameter, I can't find anything of that diameter, weight, and length. I would assume a fatter bullet would raise pressures a bit.

Thanks for that, Tommag. I have already fired the loads above to test for functionality, but ony 8 of each. They didn't feel any harder than PPU's, so I hope that they weren't anything it couldn't handle. It's a Yugo M57 which is the strongest of the TT models. I probably wouldn't want to feed it a steady diet of those, though. Unless, of course, that max pressure was in reference to 7.63x25 (.30 Mauser) rather than 7.62x25 (.30 Tokarev) which is a higher pressure round in the same case.
