Hi All,

I recently received a nice 4 cavity H&G mold in the mail. It looks better than the pics, but needs handles. It has the narrower handle groove (.250"). Is there an off the shelf handle from one of the other manufacturers that will work? Lyman maybe? I have the same problem for a 2 cavity H&G mold, need some handles, it also has the .250" handle groove. What to use?

Thanks....Duffy

You should be able to get the old .250" handles from Ballisticast. If not, you can use modified handles from a number of makers.

Ballisticast no longer carries the .250 handles. Which manufacturer would be the best choice for modifying a stock set of handles to fit the H&G 4 cavity blocks? I'm inclined to go with Lee 6 cavity handles due to price and availability. Any reason I can't shave these down to .250 and put them to work?

The next best thing you can do is to buy a #50 mould (4 cavity) on eBay and swap the handles.

#50 moulds usually sell for the least on eBay.

I used a set of Lee 6 cavity mould handles and ground them to fit with no issues for my 4 cavity H&G. I used a 4.5" hand held angle grinder but a bench grinder would be better.

Lyman 4 cavity handles are a proper fit, either the new ones or the nutcracker style.
