Im getting ready to buy a PP mould, Im leaning towards the KAL adjustable 45 cal.

What Im reading about diameter is two different schools of thought.

My bore is .458

According to the Paper Jacket book, a .450 diameter with a double wrap of .025 paper should be .002 over bore, perfect for holy black, and .001 over for smokeless.

According to the mould makers (Ive talked to a few) and old timers who all have Sharp's rifles say, that is way to tight.
That a .441-.445 is a better diameter, this gives you room for BP fouling and paper scraps to be pushed out by the next round, instead of having to wipe between shots.

Someone said my Buff Classic has a 45 degree chamber mouth, so either I have it milled to 22 degrees, or use a sloppy boolit.

What the heck is a tenderfoot to do?

Mould material, aluminum, brass or steel? Im liking the KAL steel, any down side?

What say you?

I'd head to the BPPP forum and ask Lead Pot, assuming he's still around. IIRC Oldred knows his stuff about this too. There are plenty others, sorry I'm no help.
