Thinking about buying one of these for my Glock 35 and was hoping to hear some feedback from people who bought them. They sell for about $110. Am planning on shooting cast using the Lyman 401638.
Yea or nay?

I replaced my G20's (10mm) with one, I made the mistake of getting one with the ports, sticks out past the barrel and unless I shoot hot loads it really doesn't help, otherwise they are nice barrels and take the worry out about shooting cast, my only regret is I didn't get the standard length.

I've had such good luck with them that I have one for all the Glocks I own (17, 21 threaded, 22, 23, 24, 26, 30, 34). No gunsmithing necessary and they have a slightly better supported chamber.

I shoot cast with the stock Glock barrels in my G29 and G20 -- both 10mm and .40SW rounds out of the same barrel. I've been waiting 4 months for a 5.75" threaded barrel for a G21 for a .460 Rowland / .45 SUPER conversion that I'm wanting to do. This is getting ridiculous.

UPDATE (2014.10.10) -- They are currently saying that it will be at least until December before they have a run of the 5.75" threaded barrels in. So, 6 months waiting for a barrel.

I use both the LW 40 S&W barrel for my Glock 22 and their 9MM Conversion barrel. I get excellent accuracy and both barrels shoot to the same point of aim. Same story with my son-in-law's Glock 22 and brothers Glock 17. We could not be more pleased with Lone Wolf performance.

I bought one for my 23 so I could shoot 357 Sig. It is very accurate and cast friendly. Will probably get the 9mm conversion next.

I picked up one of those for a g19 for cast bullet use. My cast reloads would chamber in any other 9mm pistol I put them in but every 10 rounds or so one wouldnt chamber in the lone wolf barrel. On their website they provide a service where you can send in dummy rounds (no primer or powder) reloads and theyll open up the chamber to accept them (I guess they just make them excessively tight). Once I had that done I never saw the problem again. Although it was irksome to spend another 30 some dollars on a reaming when the barrel was already over 100.

I buy them, but only the ones with that stupid caricature of a wolf left off. Nice barrels other than that.

I stick with LWD or Storm Lake for aftermarket barrels for my Glocks. I had the Storm Lake for my G35, but a coworker used a LWD for his G35. I have LWD in my Glocks now, just do to the price and availablity and I think the Wolf on it looks cool. :)

I have a Storm Lake barrel for my 19. It had a tight chamber when I got it, some of my boolit loads didn't want to chamber all the way. I contacted SL, they said send it in. Sent it out Tuesday, had it back in my paws Friday afternoon. They opened up the chamber and polished it out free of charge, now it's shooting great. I think the 1:16 twist is much better for accuracy than the 1:9.84 that Glock and most others use. I don't really know why you would need a twist that fast. Maybe it works better with factory j-word ammo?

I am thinking of getting an extended barrel with cuts to decrease recoil. Any suggestions?

David,

Vented barrels can help with recoil, but it really makes a difference on the caliber. A low pressure round like the 45 auto doesn't seem to make much difference.

Ten millimeter? Maybe so.

You might get better answers if you start you own thread and ask specific questions.

Welcome to the forum.

I have a Lone Wolf 6' barrel on a G20SF in 10MM It works fine. Thinking about getting another one in 357 SIG or 9x25 Dillon.

I'm currently in the market for an aftermarket barrel for my Glock 26. I'm partially to Storm Lake but wouldn't pass up a Lone Wolf or other brand if the price was right. As long as it has a slower twist I think it will work just fine for me. If anybody has one to part with give me a holler.

If you go to google and type in Lone wolf barrels this is what comes up:
https://www.lonewolfdist.com/Products.aspx?CAT=4

But they sell them much cheaper on ebay.

bought one for my glock 20. It was to tightly chambered and didnt run for ****. Sent it back to them and they supposidly opened up the chamber but when it came back it was still to tight for most of my cast loads with bullets sized to 401. It ran ok with .400 bullets but the factory barrel outshot it hands down with cast and jacketed bullets.

My Glock 35 has a KKM40 barrel and a lone wolf 9mm conversion barrel. Both work well.
My Glock 22 has Storm lakes 40 barrel and a their 9mm conversion barrels, both those work well also.
My Glock21SF is a factory barrel and it shoots the most accurate.

Yea.

I got one for my G19. it was truly a drop in part. Works fine, shoots well. At this point I basically just leave it in, and don't use the factory barrel.

Budget for a Lee Factory Crimp die. The chamber is tight.

I bought the threaded .40 S&W barrel for my G22, and it shoots great regardless of if I am using jacketed or cast. I tend to use as soft lead as I can get away with so the factory barrel leaded a bit when I tried it with cast, but the LW does great. I tend to use the factory barrel for using jacketed though, just so it gets some use. Accuracy is equal with both, but they just have their ammo preferences--or maybe I should say that I have my ammo preferences. I need to figure out if I will ever get a can for this pistol though, as that would open up some other possibilities. And as everyone has said, it is a drop in part, but I do have to remove the thread protector to install it, and then just put it back on to allow it to do it's job once installed.
