Is this what you are wanting?

Best Solution I know of is for 1911's - you change the bushing to be a compensator that is long enough that if you push the compensator against a solid object it moves the slide enough to load/eject the pistol.
https://www.lesbaer.com/images/ULT-MAST-COM.jpg

of course it works because the compensator is mounted to the slide
- all the compensators I see for glocks mount to an extended barrel which won't do it.
I would think a gunsmith could weld an extension onto a glock slide though.

for the OP, one of rackers from brownells will work, or maybe some retraining of your friend to an easier way to cycle the slide. secondly an aftermarket guiderod with a lighter spring will also help (#15 springs work great in bone stock glocks, vs the factory 17-18# ones).

I saw a reversible Mako Glock Charging handle as well on Amazon that might work.

According to the comments on Amazon it worked well for one person who had Arthritis, and few other folks wives, allowing them to cycle the slide.

So your an expert on 1911's, you'll have to forgive me I picked a generic picture of a compensator - not being able to afford a Les Bear myself. My King compensator that replaces my Micro bushing is long enough to charge my pistol. I don't know what an "El Chapo" brand is but mine is not sloppy fitting.

Glad to see your a Wiz with Glocks as well, what kind of battering do you see with factory ammo by reducing the spring rate 10% or so over the life of the gun?

Now my question is what if the stroke has effected the hands ability to grip the aftermarket charging handle on the glock? Do you have to find a table or corner to push the charging handle against to charge the pistol? I assume that is what you intend, or am I mistaken?

And I know he doesn't want to change firearms but for ladies with arthritis I used to recommend the tip up barrel models

Sorry but.....3 lb. of grip won't let you rack the slide even with a racking handle.....because the weak, supporting hand can't resist enough to prevent the other hand from dragging the pistol backward with it when you try to rack it.

Not sure all the racking handle suggestions are going to pan out if his grip is that weak.

35remington, if he can find a fixed object (wall, door, table, etc) to catch most of the racking handles will let him push thru to charge it.
And of course, we all hope that his condition is only temporary and will get better with rehab exercises.

wow arent you the friendly sort. as for frame battering, with a 15# spring in a 9mm glock, zero is the answer.

A heavy duty belt on with a charging handle towards his weak side, he could hook the charging handle on the belt and push down with his strong side. Not the safest way to do it, but one way to do it. I also like the stationary object idea unless you need to do otherwise. Hope he makes a full recovery, and this is just a temporary fix to keep him in the game, don't let him give up.

Lefty O how often are you changing that 15# spring?
(Glock recommended replacement interval of every 3000rds on their 17-18 # factory springs)
